Russ and Shawna Hayward started Midwest Auctions, Inc. in 1989. Russ has been a compensated instructor, appraiser, and speaker for the states of Wisconsin and Illinois. He has been recognized by those states as the Midwest's leading authority on Native American artifacts. Russ has been referred by the University of Iowa Archeological Department on numerous occasions over the past 12 plus years on items brought to the University to look at and appraise, resulting in the University referring Russ to look at and appraise them. The owners then have had Midwest Auctions Inc sell their collections.
